Cancer - prevention and aftercare

As a consequence, our doctors are often asked:

  • What can I do as a precaution?
  • Which therapeutic measures are appropriate complementary medicine in the case of cancer?
  • What is active care in complementary medicine?
  • What are the causes of cancer?

The exact causes of cancer are not clarified in detail, in spite of intensive fundamental research. Cancer causes a mutation in the genetic make-up of cells. This can be inherited or can occur spontaneously. There is a disruption of the genetically regulated balance between the cell cycle, which is responsible for growth and division, and cell death. If the repair genes of the cells cannot remedy the resulting damage, uncontrolled cell growth occurs: a tumor is formed that can be either benign or malignant.

Risk factors for the development of cancer include:

  • Smoking, alcohol consumption
  • Excessive sunbathing
  • Environmental toxins
  • Excess weight, lack of exercise and unbalanced diet
  • Chronic infections
  • Hereditary predisposition
  • Long-lasting and unresolved psychosomatic stress factors

Every cancer is preceded by a long history. For this reason, the Alpstein Clinic attaches great importance to active prevention and the early detection and avoidance of risk factors.

Our approach for cancer

For the prevention of cancer, it is important to recognize risks of the disease early and to reduce these with a suitable treatment, or even eliminate it altogether. The following risk factors can be treated with a therapy:

  • Toxin levels such as heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, plastics, etc.
  • Lack or limited function of important detoxification enzymes
  • Chronic infections, such as viral diseases, dental disorders, etc.
  • Deficiencies of vitamins, minerals, trace elements etc.
  • Disrupted intestinal flora, damaged intestinal mucosa (leaky gut)
  • Cell metabolism disorder (mitochondriopathy)
  • Food intolerances, and more

In the case of an already existing cancer, or for the aftercare of a tumor, we offer possibilities for further diagnostics:

  • Further laboratory diagnostics:
    • Determination of circulating tumor cells (CTC), chemo- and biologic sensitivity tests
    • Th1 / Th2 / Th17 – cytokine status
    • Nagalase test (endogenous enzyme with immunosuppressive effect that can be used for therapy monitoring)
    • Functional test of natural killer cells (NK cells) and associated drug tests. This is to determine which drug best stimulates natural killer cells
    • Specific tumor markers, and more
  • Thermography
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)/HRV measurement over 24 hours
  • Panoramic radiograph of the teeth (OPT)
  • Global Diagnostics, and more

In response to in-depth diagnostics, it is possible to define meaningful additional therapeutic measures in the event of an existing cancer. In doing so, we attach great importance to developing a complementary medical concept for each patient. This is also possible in conjunction with conventional treatment methods such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
